In addition to talking about his career journey to become CEO of CoverHound, Keith Moore answered a few questions for Carrier Management about the insurance industry and technology.
Q: What do you view as the biggest obstacle to innovation in the insurance industry, and what is CoverHound doing to overcome the obstacle?
Moore: We’re very progressive and forward-looking on new technologies and a better way to build things. But we’re dealing with a lot of companies that have very legacy platforms. That’s the biggest obstacle.
It’s as much of a pain point for the companies we work with as it is for us. So we try to figure out how [to] exceed expectations. We try to meet our career partners more than halfway. We can do a lot of the tech work and a lot of these things for them because we realize that they either don’t have the resources immediately available to do a lot of that or they have a platform that needs to be completely overhauled before they are able to have a very highly interactive digital experience.
