Like most of you, the CoverHound team watched the images of Hurricane Sandy battering the East Coast with shock and heavy hearts.
Many of us know those Brooklyn streets and New Jersey coasts -- having spent years and childhoods just miles from those shorelines.
We’re insurance experts, and know first hand that not everyone has the resources to purchase renters or flood insurance. Many homes and possessions lost to Sandy will recede along with tide.
So we decided to do our part to help, even if that means just a few dollars and lots of goodwill. For every car insurance policy bought by our fellow Californians we’re going to donate $50 to the American Red Cross’s relief effort for Hurricane Sandy.

The aim is to help Californians protect their homes and vehicles from similar natural disasters, while supporting fellow Americans on the other side of the country picking up the pieces after such a devastating storm.
