It's week 4 of my adventures in dream cars and their insurance woes. It's been a fun month, for the most part, of researching my dream cars and figuring out what it would cost to insure them. I've been surprised by a few quotes, sometimes pleasantly and sometimes not so much.
To recap, Week 1 belonged to a gorgeous burnt orange Audi R8, Week 2 was the Shelby "Super Snake", and Week 3 was the beautiful new Porsche 911 Carrera.
This week's winner is the ultra chic 2011 Lamborghini Gallardo LP570-4 Superleggera! How did this beauty win one of my top five dream cars? Simple. Sleek design, less weight, and still pumps out 570 horsepower! 0-60 in 3.4 seconds. 0-124 in only 10.2 seconds later. And top speed of 202mph! I might need to bump this guy into first place. What's the price though? Oh, only around $237,600. Ouch!

Once again, I will go with no less than superior coverage for my precious dream car. Unfortunately this is by far the most expensive, insurance-wise, that I have seen yet. For a$1,223 a month I can get the primary coverages of $50,000 property damage, $1,000 medical payments, $100/300k uninsured motorist, and $100/300k bodily injury limits. I'll also have $500 collision and comprehensive deductibles and $75/day for towing and labor.
Of course I want the best insurance policy for my dream car, but I may need to pass on this one, since the monthly insurance is so high. This is the perfect example of why you should check into insurance costs before you go out and buy one of your dream cars!
