1. We won an American Business Award!
On Monday, September 16th, we won the Gold Stevie Award for ‘Best Insurance Website’ at the 2013 American Business Awards.
What is a Stevie Award? The Stevie Awards were created to honor outstanding performances in the workplace. CoverHound is only three years old, and we were up against some big, well-known companies, so we are thrilled to be receiving the ‘Best Insurance Website’ award!

2. We broke more records, and we’re growing faster!
Quotes have increased by 415% and Policy Sales have increased by 295% in the past 10 months! Yep, you read that right :). We quoted and sold the highest number of policies to date in a single month this past September!
Plus, site visits have increased by 221% in the past 12 months, with the highest number of visits being in September. Can you tell we’re excited?
3. We've added more Insurance Carriers and more states.
We’ve continued to roll out more recognized insurance brands like Esurance to more states across the country, and we now sell policies in 46 states! We’ve also rolled out Progressive’s Homeowners Insurance product, ASI.
4. We launched our updated mobile site for Twitter Estimates.

5. We added great people to our CoverHound team!
Matt Flaherty and Katherine Moura (yours truly) joined in the San Francisco office. Matt is our new VP of Engineering. He joins us after a 10-year career at IBM in various roles as Chief Architect, Security for IBM Collaboration Software and a stint at TaskRabbit. He has been coding since before the internet as we know it really existed and has a Master's Degree in Engineering Management from MIT.
I am the new Director of Digital Marketing. I have worked on both the agency and in-house side of the digital space for 8 years. At CoverHound, I am spending my time focusing on blogging, social media, SEO and SEM. My goal is to make CoverHound the most well known brand in the comparison insurance shopping space!
We also added three new people to our Westlake office to help us as we continue to grow: Will Buffington as Customer Relationship Manager, Kenndra Warren as a Junior QC Analyst and Manny Rodriguez as an Insurance Advisor.
As you can see, September rocked for us, and we’re going to continue to push for an even more incredible October!
